We made the trip to Disney's Fort Wilderness with no problems at all.
Smooth trip, good weather, traffic was a little heavy since we traveled the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Got setup on our site, weather forcast looks great this week, lows in the 50s , highs in the 70s.
Note: If you are staying at Fort Wilderness they have changed the Campsites TV Cable system to an all Digital Signal, no more Analog signal on their TV Cable system.
Disney / Fort Wilderness will loan you a convertor box if your TV does not have a digital tuner.
We had no problem with the Disney cable system digital signal but the Mouse does not have a great channel selection.
Fort Wilderness has a lot of trees and getting a Satellite signal here is a challange. I checked with our compass and thought I could aim our dish over our 5ers roof and get a signal.
I got our Satellite Dish out and set it up on our Tripod and connected our Accutek III meter to the cable. I had 70% signal on all 3 LNBs in less than a minute, tightened everything down and we are good to go.
Fort Wilderness had a RailRoad that ran thru the Campground, it only operated between 1973 and 1977
You can still see the old train track bed in parts of the campground.
Below are pictures of the old train track bed as it looks today.
Here is a some pictures and info that was used when the Fort Wilderness Rail Road was operating.

Lovely site.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they got rid of the train, that would be a plus for me. The visitors must have enjoyed it, too.
